Please support your parish
Like everyone else, our parish costs are rising and income is declining. Over the years leading up to the global pandemic, you were very generous in supporting our parish restoration fund and this is greatly appreciated, but now with the decline in numbers returning after the pandemic, our parish income is substantially down on what it was less than three years ago.
At the moment, we know that everyone is beginning to feel the pinch with the cost of living increases - food, energy, travel and so forth. At the same time very many people in the parish and town are generously supporting refugee families who have come here in recent months. Time, money, talents are being shared by so many people in seeking to bring a little help to others in whatever ways you can.
This is one of the reasons why the parish doesn't feel comfortable with asking for more at this moment. We realise that it is not easy for people to give more. For now, we would simply ask that you consider signing up for the parish Gift Aid scheme. I'm sure you know how it works: it is a government scheme whereby tax payers who donate to a charity can choose to have an additional 25% added to their donation by the government. So, for example, if you donate £10 when you come to church, it remains as a generous £10 donation. However, if you join fill in a Gift Aid declaration, and use the envelopes you will be given, you can increase your regular donation, at no extra cost to yourself and make it worth £12.50. Please do think of supporting your parish in this way. The form can be downloaded here and printed off, or you can email the parish at [email protected] and we will send you one.
You can make an online donation using the portal here - thank you.
With our sincere thanks and wishing you God's blessing,
Kevin
